Jun. 06, 1981 - Fat man Daniel gets first class treatment. England's fattest ever Englishman, Daniel Lambert, returned in triumph to his home town of Leicester today with a little help from British Rail, Daniel, who weighed 52 stone 11 pounds at his death in 1809 has been recreated as a soft sculpture by the artist Bonza, to celebrate the 1981 Leicester festival. The giant figure was moved from Bonza's London studio to St Pancras station for the journey to Leicester. photo shows Two porters have a bit of a struggle in getting the giant fat man into the Leicester train at st Pancras station today
