Solar eclipse shown on television for first time
Feb. 02, 1961 - Eurovision shows total solar eclipse for the first time The total solar eclipse will only be seen in Southern Europe on February 15th, 1961. Dr. Rudolf Kohn of the Bavarian Broadcast and Patrick Moore of BBC-London found a possibility to show the solar eclipse on the television screen between 8.20am and 9.00 am. MET - but only if there will be no clouds. Up to now it was not possible to see the same nature phenomenon in France, Italy and Yugoslavia at the same second. Our picture-setting shows the zenith of the solar eclipse: The moon covers the sun for a moment
