Soldier checks tanker lorry on entry to Heathrow Airport
Jan. 01, 1974 - Heathrow airport ringed by tanks and troops: London's Heathrow Airport was ringed by Troops and Tanks early today in a massive anti-terrorist alert. A Defence Ministry spokesman said Army units were called in by Scotland Yard to aid civil community. The alert is expected to last for a least three days.
