Southmead Primary School, Wimbledon Park, London

Opening of Southmead Primary School; There are few schools in London whose grounds are so well equipped and laid out that even for nature study the children have hardly need to go beyond the confines of the school. This happy state of affairs exists at the new Southmead Primary School in the Wimbledon Park area, which was opened today by Miss Mary Field, well known for her work in connection with children's films. A small paved garden is planned which will have flower beds for the children to cultivate. Photo Shows Three little pupils have a live guinea pig for their drawing lesson at the new school today. They are (L to R); Geraldine Spragg, age 7, from Wimbledon Park Side; Janet Theunissen, 8, of Wimbledon Park Side and Grace Winter, 8, of Southfields
