Soviet ambassador Yershev and wife exit Israel, Tel Aviv

Feb. 02, 1953 - Soviet Ambassador to Israel gets his Exit Visa. Russia breaks off diplomatic relations with Israel: The USSR broke off diplomatic relations with Israel - following bomb explosion in the Russian Legation in Tel Aviv - in which Mrs. Yershev - wife of the Soviet ambassador was injured with others - the inside of the legation being wrecked. When withdrawing the Soviet Ambassador - Mr. Vishinsky the Soviet Foreign Minister declared that the Israel Police had connived in the Outrage'. Photo Shows Mr. Yershev the Soviet Ambassador (R with glasses) and Mrs. Yershev when they received their exit visas in Tel Aviv - when they left for home
