Soviet Embassy, Kensington Palace Gardens, London

Sep. 09, 1971 - Britain Expels 105 Russians after KGB Defector Exposes Soviet Spy Net in London. Britain expelled 90 Russian diplomats and officials yesterday for spying, forbade the return of 15 others temporarily out of the country and put a limit on the numbers of officials the Soviet Government may station in London. The drastic came after the defection of a senior agent of the KGB intelligence service earlier this month, and his disclosures of plan to infiltrate saboteurs and more spies into Britain. The agent has not been named. Photo Shows: The Soviet Embassy, an Edwardian mansion in Kensington Palace Gardens
