Apr. 17 Soviet tanks against East Berlin demonstrators. On Wednesday, June 17th, 1953, the Russians went into action against Berlin workmen residing in the East zone of Berlin who had taken part in the demonstrations. When the Iron monsters crossed the main squares of the city where thousands of demonstrators had assembled in order to protest against the East German regime, the tank crews were welcomed with roaring Fie! Shame on you! cries
