Aug. 08, 1957 - Space rocket - The first time after World War II a space rocket was started in Cuxhaven on August 25, 1957. It was built by the German Work Team for Rocket technic e.V. during spare time of the members. No governmental means were used for the construction for the rocket and the experiments. These rockets are meteorological test implements which are used for weather observation in high altitudes. OPS: The flight of the space rocket is being observed
