Mar. 17, 1959 - The unknown spectator of football-games : had been set a monument at Herne, Germany. The town Herne in the Ruhr-district is said to be one of the most important towns for football, so the city-fathers asked sculptor Elisabeth Hoffmann to make a stone sculpture, 2 metres high, which is generally said to be the monument of the unknown spectator of football games
