May 05, 1969 - Students Clash with Police All Over Japan on Okinawa Day: On the 17th anniversary of San Francisco Peace Treaty which separate the Ryukyu islands from Japan and put them under US administration, big rallies and demonstrations were held throughout Japan as well as on Okinawa Islands, demanding the return of Okinawa. Zengakaren students clashed with Riot Police in many districts of Tokyo, which almost paralysed the Metropolitan functions.
