Students in street battle with police, Frankfurt, Germany

Feb. 02, 1968 - A Street Battle broke out in Frankfurt on Monday, February 5th. After a Teach in of students with the SDS chief ideologist Rudi Dutschke in front of the American Consulate General in Frankfurt, in the course of which the police used water throwers, battles with the police broke out which turned into duels in some cases. After police activity of nearly one hour the streets could be cleared. Six demonstrators were arrested. On posters the Socialist German Student Union demanded a battle against the West German settlements of US Imperialism and the participation in a Vietnam demonstration. OPS: Police cordon against the demonstrators
