Nov. 12, 1956 - Port Said, Egypt - Suez Crisis also called Suez-Sinai War was the Israel-Egypt encounter at the end of October and the beginning of November 1956, which resulted in the route of a substantial part of the Egyptian army and Israel's seizure of the Sinai Peninsula, brought to a head the tension that had been simmering in Arab-Israeli relations for several years.
