Oct. 10, 1955 - Florence Chadwick Tries Again For Channel Double Fourth Attempt This Year: Miss Florence Chadwick, the 35 year old Californian swimmer entered the water at St. Margaret's Bay, near Dover at 10-24 a.m. today in her attempt at a non-stop double crossing of the Channel. This is her fourth attempt this year. Her first aim is to beat the England - France record of 14 hrs. 6 min. set up six weeks ago by Bill Pickering of Bloxwich.
