Jun. 06, 1959 - Swimming champion rescued when attacked by Cramp Young Lady from S. Eden in Firth of Forth. Swimming champion - twenty three year old Gerda Olsson was fished from the water by veteran Ned Barnie (62) her coach and 24 year old motor salesman Tom Elliot when she was suddenly attacked by cramp when swimming the Firth of Forth yesterday. The cramp stopped her from becoming the first woman to swim across the Forth and back. She is daughter of a Swedish golfer - and is in training for a channel attempt later this year.
