Dec. 19 Short Snooze For A Smooth Swimmer The Place: The Beautiful North Shore Pool in St. Petersburg, Florida, the Event: -Practice sessions for, the Women's Senior National Amateur Athletic Union Indoor Synchronized Swimming Championships, being held at the Sunshine City, March March 23-25; The Girl: Carol Redmond, one of the San Francisco Marionettes, 12-consecutive time National Team Champions, The Details: The San Francisco Marionettes include: Andrea Welles, Margo McGrath, Kathie McBride, Barbara Trantina, Carol Redmond, Norma Fish, Kathy Bryant, and Joan L;ang. In 1961 they were selected by the State Department to representr the United States in a tour of the Orient. demonstrating their swimming skills in Japan, Korea, Taiwan the Philippines, Guam, Okinawa and Hawaii. Nearly 200 young swimmers from across the nation will take part in the Contest for solo, duet and team acts. The meet is sponsored by the St. Petersburg Recreation Department Aquatic Club and the winners will compete on the Olympics in Mexico in 1968.
