May 05, 1960 - All German competition for participation in Olympic Games. Winner of the competition of the swimmers from East and West Germany on 2nd and 3rd July in Munich which was to decide about the participation in the Olympic Games in Rome this year, were Gerhard Hetz from Hof, West Germany, over the 400 m distance in the crawl (4:34, 4 minutes) and Ursel Brunner of Heidelberg, West Germany, right, over the 400 m distance in the crawl for ladies (5:07, 5 minutes)
