Aug. 15, 1960 - American Girl Who Attempts Under-Water Channel Swim Makes It Up With Her Husband: Jane Baldasare, the 24-year-old American girl who attempts an under-water Channel swim today, broke shock news to her husband Fred yesterday. She admitted that she had asked a New Lawyer to start divorce proceedings. Fred Baldasare, 36-year-old film director, was shocked, but Jane told him that she had changed her mind, and did not want a divorce after all. It appears that some months ago, while her husband was filming in Oklahoma, they had a quarrel over the phone, and without telling her husband she asked her lawyer to start divorce proceedings.
