May 05, 1965 - Introducing new arm fins for swimmers.: A brand new swimming aid was introduced at the Oasis Pool, Holborn, this morning. Known as Swim Jets, the new invention, developed by a Belgian frogman, is a pair of arm fins which, strapped to the wrist, increase surface and underwater speed by 25%. As the swimmer moves through the water, the fins open and close rather like the motion of a bird's wings. With each downward stroke, they open to form abroad paddle. Olympic swimming star Anita Lonsborough demonstrated the new fins this morning. Photo shows Anita Lonsborough pictured wearing the new Swim Jets, at the Oasis Pool this morning
