Swimming - Diving

May 27, 1965 - Introducing arm fins for swimmers ? A brand new swimming aid was introduced at the Oasis Pool, Holborn, this morning. Known as Swim Jets, the new invention, developed by a Belgian frogman, is a pair of arm fins which, strapped to the wrist, increase surface and underwater swimming by speed by up to 25%. As the swimmer moved through the water, the fins open and close rather like the motion of a bird?s wings. With each downward stroke, they open to form a broad paddle. Anita Lonsborough demonstrated the new fins this morning. Keystone Photo Shows: - Anita Lonsborough seen demonstrating the new arm fins at the Oasis Pool this morning
