The Navy signals All Ships Keep Clear yesterday, as 17 year old Joan Hone swam the 5, 5 miles from Saltash Bridge to Mayflower Steps, Plymouth in three hours one minute yesterday. Several ships steered out of the way. Next year Joan intends to swim to Plymouth Breakwater and back and then her aim is to swim the Channel.
