Swiss man weaves biggest wicker basket

Feb. 29 A wicker-basket made of 1000 osier twigs An unusual idea has had the basket maker Fritz Kohler of Huttwil (small Swiss village in canton of Berne). During the long winter evenings he wove the biggest wicker-basket of Switzerland. The wickerwork has a measure of 2.10 metres (diameter) and Mr. Kohler needed about 1, 000 different coloured osier sticks. Keystone Zurich 84-4-30
