Sword found during demolition, High Holborn, London

May 05, 1957 - Sword discovered during demolition of Holborn Building, London. Scene of London Murder in 1949. Hidden among a pile of boxes and rubble on the roof of some terraced offices which are being torn down in High Holborn - was a double edged sword. Soon after its discovery it was collected by Scotland Yard. In one of the offices nearly eight years ago, 36 year old Miss Daisy Edith Wallis was stabbed to death with a double edged weapon which has never been found. The sword is now being examined by Detective Superintendent Robert Stone of Scotland Yard - who was one of the officers in charge in the hunt for the killer eight years ago.
