The dancers adopt the closed waltz hold and are just about to go into the 1st beat of the 11th Bar. Old-Time dance experts demonstrate their Coronation Dance A Waltz For The Queen': Sydney and Mary Thompson, leading Old-Time dance experts have devised a new Coronation year ballroom dance for television, which they have called A Waltz for The Queen with music specially written by Kenneth Wright, head of TV music programmes. It will be shown to the public for the first time on TV on April 22nd. Sydney and Mary Thompson travel about 5, 000 miles a year with their orchestra playing for Old-Time dances in all parts of the British Isles. Last summer they toured the USA and Canada teaching the English style of Old-Time dancing. Since 1945 when they decided to make Old-Time dancing a full time business they have travelled over 380, 000 miles, danced approximately 10, 000 miles and appeared with their orchestra in front of 800, 000 dancers.
