Sydney Walker, verger, St Bartholomew the Great, London

May 05, 1974 - Stolen Vermeer Painting found. The Vermeer painting The Guitar Player which was stolen in February from Kenwood House, Hampstead, was found last night in a City churchyard by detectives from Scotland Yard's Flying Squad. The painting was found at St Bartholomew the Great church, and taken to Scotland Yard for examination by experts. It is valued at £1, 250, 000. Photo shows the Verger, Sydney Walker, who lives on the church premises, pictured outside the church today
