T Huxley-Jones working on sculpture of Christ

Mar. 03, 1968 - Fibreglass statue of Christ: A 10 foot high fibreglass figure of Christ may shock churchgoers at St. Martin's Church, Basildon, when it is unveiled later this year, says sculptor T. Huxley - Jones, of Broomfield, Essex. I doubt if it will be generally accepted. Rural Dean of Laindon-oum-Basildon, the Rev. Arthur Dunlop, said : It is bound to be controversial. It is meant to welcome people into the church and its theme is taken from the text Enter Into the Joy of Our Lord. Photo shows Sculptor T. Huxley-Jones at work on the 10 foot high fibreglass statue of Christ, at his studio in Broomfield, Essex
