Teenage boy helps police in murder investigation

Sep. 09, 1936 - Fourteen year old boy helps police in murder investigation : fourteen year old Alan Clarke was congratulated by Scotland Yard officials yesterday for his help in investigation of the murder of 36 year old Mrs. Diana Suttey of Harrow. Mrs. Suttey was found strangled in Green Lane, Hemel Hempstead, Herts. Alan and two friends were cycling in the area on Friday and saw a Standard car in the vicinity with the door open, and saw a man throw a coat or something over something on the ground nearby. He kept a diary of the incident, took the car number, and after the car had gone looked into the bushes and informed the police. Photo shows Alan Clarke writing in his notebook in Green Lane, near Hemel Hempstead - near the scene of the discovery
