May 05, 1957 - Television In Schools Experiment: Television took its place in schools yesterday - as an experiment - the progress of which is being closely watched by education authorities. It was the first of of an eight week term of schools broadcasting at a cost of about 4000 a week - and is given out over the ITV network - and was seen by pupils in 100 schools in the Midlands and Home Counties - and contains no advertising matter whatsoever.
