Jul. 07, 1958 - TONY PICKARD MAKES TENNIS BEFORE HONEYMOON DECISION. Only 24 hours after Roger Becker had made his honeymoon before tennis decision and withdrawn from the British Davis Cup team, Tony Pickard, chosen to replace him, faced the same problem. Tony's decision was Tennis first - honeymoon later. 23-year old Pickard, from Derbyshire, marries 21-year old Janet Sisson next Wednesday. Becker marries former air stewardess Shirley Malkin on Monday. The Davis Cup match against France at Manchester co-incided with their honeymoon, and an LTA rule bars a wife from staying at the same hotel as the husband. So Backer quit the team.
