1959 - World Championship in Table Tennis 1959 in Dortmund / Germany In the World Championship in Table Tennis 1959 which was held from March 27th till April 5th, 1959 in Dortmund/Germany on March 31st the title of the Team-World champion was given to the Japanese teams, both women and men team. The women were able to beat the Korean team after hard combat, and the men beat the Hungarian team (2nd) 5:1.
