Theodor Tolsdorff returns to court in Traunstein for retrial
Sep. 09, 1958 - General Tolsdorff again at the court; The court of assises at the county court Traunstein began with a new trial against the highest decorated soldier of the German Army of the second world war, Lieutenant General Theodor Tolsdorff on Tuesday September 23rd. He let kill by shooting the former captain Franz Xaver Holzey on May 3rd 1945 without judgement of the war court, because the Captain put a red cross sign near a command post at the entrance of the little Bavarian village Eisenarzt to save it from destruction by the Americans, because there was an army hospital in Eisenarzt. Tolsdorff had been sentenced to three and a half years in 1954 for this action, but now he demanded a retrial
