Nov. 12, 1968 - Tibbet's Corner Improvement: The underpass which is the final stage of the Greater London Council's 2 million improvement of Tibbet's Corner on Putney Heath opens for Traffic tomorrow. Tibbet's Corner is the meeting place on Putney Heath for roads from Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Kingston and Putney. Work began nearly two years ago on this improvement which includes a large new roundabout - an underpass and new pedestrian and equestrian facilities leading to the common. In addition Kingston Road has been widened to six lanes with dual carriageway. Photo Shows the equestrian and pedestrian facilities beneath the roundabout, at Tibbet's Corner today
