Dec. 18, 1966 - Escapologist accepts challenge to escape from a straight jacket while suspended upside down over the River Thames in London: Timothy Dill-Russell, escapology adviser to the musical Man of Magic at the Piccadilly Theatre today attempted a Houdini-style escape from a straight jacket whilst suspended by his heels upside down from a crane over the River Thames at Chelsea Bridge. He was challenged to do this by Stuart Damon, who plays Houdini in the show. Photo shows Timothy Dill-Russell is securely strapped in the straight jacket as he hangs by his heels from a crane over the Thames at Chelsea Bridge today
