The world premiere of the film A Countess from Hong Kong, which was written and directed by Charlie Chaplin, took place at the Carlton Cinema, Haymarket, London. it was something of a Chaplin family occasion. Four Rolls Royces took Mr. Chaplin, his wife, Oona, and seven of their children to the premiere, which was attended by Princess Alexandra. Stars of the film are Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren.
