Toshio Eto, Japanese child prodigy at the piano, Tokyo
1963 - Child Prodigies Turned Out en masse at the National Memorial Concourse for children held in Tokyo recently. Outstanding of all artists and winner of the Education Minister Prize was 12-year old Toshiyo Eto. Out of the group of more than fifty young participants, young Eto placed first. He is a wonder with his Violin. With his 10 year old sister, Suzuko, at the piano, he gave a beautiful rendition of Mendelssohn's Concerto in E Minor. He plays with such ease, with such perfect technique, that it is hard to believe that he is only a young boy. Two musical prodigies in one family is a rare thing. The Eto family can boast of their accomplished children who, despite their youth, are true musicians. They are shown in a rehearsal at home.
