Track And Field - Decathlon - Javelin
Nov. 11, 1959 - Athletics on a string: New aid for sprinters when starting is this new start block, invented by the gymnastic philologist Dr. Gotthilf bottcher (Gotthilf Bottcher) of Berlin. The High start is to enable sprinters to reach shorter times over short distances. As the inventor thinks, the instrument - it weights 5 pounds - gives the runner a faster starting speed and certainty already at the first few steps as the body does not have to change its position. The instrument costs about 50 Dm which is a little more than the old starting blocks cost
