Mar. 22 Britain Marathon Champion Prepares Himself For Montreal. Ian Thompson, Britain Gold Medal marathon runner, is now preparing for the Olympic Games is Montreal next year. At the moment he is running 90 miles per week but he expects to increase to about 120 miles. On Sundays Ian does his longest stint of the week by running for 25 miles in and around the streets in the area of his home town in Luton, Bedfordshire. On occasion his wife Margaret, also a runner, accompanies him on his Sunday run. OPS: Ian Thompson is joined by his wife Margaret on one of his training runs around the streets of Luton, Bedfordshire
