Mar. 03, 1960 - Australian Olympic Gold Medalist Hetty Cutheert Sets Up New 60-Meter World Record; In windy and bleak conditions, records galore went by the board, and others were equaled, on the final day of the New South Wales Women's Athletic Championships at the Sydney Sports ground last Saturday Feb. 27th. On a sodden field, Australian Olympic gold medalist Hetty Cutheert set up a new 60 meters world record time of 7.2 seconds, thus clipping one second off Poland's Stella Walsh's world time of 7.3 seconds, set up in 1933.
