Jun. 06, 1964 - Jazy Congratulates Wadoux Who Has Beaten One of His Record At the International Saint-Maur athleticism meeting, Jean Wadoux, one of the most serious contender at the next Olympic Games, beat the 1, 000 metres record which was held by his teacher and team-mate Michel Jazy by 5 tenths of a second in 2 18 6. Jazy who was unable to run the race shouted encouragements to his pupil and was one of the first to congratulate him after the announcement of the record.
