Sep. 09, 1960 - Britain and Commonwealth meets U. S. A. London: P. Snell of New Zealand crosses the finishing line at the White City Stadium here tonight to win 4x880 yards relay for the British Commonwealth team clocked a world record time of 7 minutes 18 seconds - but the record cannot go forward as the team was composed of runners from different countier. The U. S. A. team also put up a new world record, which will stand, of 7 minutes 19.4 seconds
