Jul. 07, 1964 - Norwegian sets up new World Javelin Record. 21-year-old Terje Pedersen, an Oslo dentist student, has broken the men's world javelin record with 285ft. 10ins. Pedersen, one of Norway's biggest hopes for an Olympic medal in Tokyo, was competing in an international between Norway and the Benelux countries. C.
