Aug. 08, 1964 - Anne Gets Ready For Tokyo, Entry In The 800 Meters Event; Attractive twenty two year old sprinter Ann Smith daughter of a London newspaper line type operator Hammersmith - is now in training for her visit to Tokyo as a member of the British Athletic team. Anne who is to compete in the 800 meters event says she owes her success to the oen and only Gordon Pierie - former world record holdre who t rained her. Gordon spends a lot of his time - coaching Anne at the Pirie home at Redhill. Included in Ann's pupils are some Japanese children - so Anne should have a chance of picking up a little of the language before she leaves on Septermber 27th.
