Jul. 07, 1971 - David Bedford fails in his attempt at the world 5.000 meters record at Crystal palace:The Brash and outspoken runner David Bed ford failed in his attempt to break the world 5.000 meter record at the Amateur Athletic Association meeting at Crystal palace today. Bed ford pulled out of the race on the eighth lap after it seemed he had injured the Hamstring in his right leg.
