Sep. 03, 1972 - Britain's David Hemrey Finishes Third In The 400 Meters Hurdles Final At The Olympic Games In Munich: David Hemery, Olympic Champion and Britain's best hope for a track gold finished third in the 400 meters hurdles final in the Olympic Games in Munich yesterday. The race was won by John Akii-Bua, the 22-year-old Ugandan hurdler who stets up a new world and Olympic record of 4708 secs. Ralph Mann, the American hope was placed second.
