Aug. 04, 1980 - August 4th 1980 New Zealander Lorraine Moller wins the London Marathon Lorraine Moller, of New Zealand, was the surprise winner of the Avon International Women's Marathon held in London yesterday. In only her second race over the distances. She won in 2 hours 35 mins 11 sec. The 25 year-old school teacher beat a field of 250, run over a 26.7 miles route staring from Battersea Park to the finish at Guildhall in the City of London.
