Dec. 12, 1952 - Tragic train crash in fog at Lewisham wreckage of the Flyover: More than forty people lost their lives when a steam train crashed into an electric train traveling from Charing Cross to Hayes just outside St.John's Station, Lewisham in the dense fog this evening, Part of a flyover crashed on to the wreckage. Photo shows firemen work on the wreckage showing girders of the flyover which crashed down creating more chaos in the fog this evening
