THE MAN WHO WILL SHAPE THE DESTINY OF THE NEW INDEPENDENT MALAYA Tunku Abdul Rahman, the Chief Minister of the Federation of Malaya who will load the new independent country photographed in Malayan costume at his home in Kuala Lumpur. The Chief Minster will also be the Minister for Internal defence and Home Security and Minister for Home Affrais. The full title of the Tunku (Prince) is Abdul Rahman ibnil Almarhum Sultan Adbul Hamid Shah. He was born at Alor Star (Kedah) on Feb. 8th 1902, the seventh son of the then Sultan. He was at St. Catherine College, Cambridge after his earlier schooling in Malaya where he obtained a B.A. A barrister-at-law, he was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in 1949. He was the man who led the Merkeda Mission in London. He played football for St. Catherine's and is president of the Football Association of Malaya.
