1966 - The Anatomy of First Aid New Adult Education Series to be shown on ABC Television: There are about 8, 000 accidents in Britain every day, and the lives of people involved in them often depend on what is done, or not done by whoever happens to be on the spot when the accident happens. There is no doubt that many lives could be saved if more of us knew the elementary principles of First Aid. On Sunday April 17th ABC Television presented by Dr. Michael Winstanley, the newly elected Liberal MP for Cheadle. The series will concentrate on the practical methods to be used in an emergency, in the vital period before the ambulance arrives, and the medical experts take over. Photo shows Sheila Kennedy, the ABC Television announcer in the North and Midlands, who will introduce the series. sits on a bench in London's Hanover Square with a skeleton which will be used in the programme. She was on her way to deliver the skeleton to the television studios
