Typical Bavarian he-man Hugo Knopek, Munich

Aug. 27, 1973 - Typical Bavarian he-man Hugo Knopek, the man on our photo smiling radiantly into the camera looks as if he was genuinely an inhabitant of Germany's Southern Alpine region. Yet he's a native citizen of Munich, the Bavarian capital. For the hot season he is wearing the formerly traditional costume, short leather pants, which resemble somewhat Bermuda shorts worn by many a man nowadays during recreational hours. Mr. Knopek, however, who is pictured intentionally in front of Munich's National theater, is demonstrating that he even attends the opera house while wearing this type of male attire
