Nov. 11, 1979 - LEYLAED WORKERS BACK UNION BOSS. British Layland's decision to dismiss communist union leader Mr Derek Robinson has resulted in thousands of workers walking out in protest. Red Derek, as he is called, produced a booklet calling for strike action to disrupt BL's recovery plan. Other union leaders fell the sacking is unjustified.
