Oct. 10, 1977 - STEWARDS BACK LEYLAND PLAN All 130, 000 workers employed by Leyland Cars will be balloted next week on whether to accept the Company's proposals for centralised bargaining and standardardization of wages by 1979. A decision to recommend the proposals was taken yesterday at T.U.C. headquarters by about 250 shop stewards from all 34 plants. The majority in favour was about 80.
